World Issues Focus - Conflict in Israel

There is a history of conflict between the Israeli and Palestinian people. In recent years the conflict has been widely covered by news agencies around the world. The violence and racial tension in the area has caused much suffering.

A tragic consequence of the continuing conflict in the Middle East is the poverty and the hopelessness faced by potential Palestinian university students. They have great motivation and the ability to be educated and improve their society, but their families are accruing debts just to eat and pay basic living costs.

Organization Highlight - CAMA Services

This month 10% of the price you pay, for any of our products, goes to help students affected by the crisis in Israel.

CAMA Services is supporting a relief project in the West Bank that not only helps needy families with food and medical help, but also helps many students to continue their university education.

CAMA has already helped 55 students to study a variety of subjects at 7 different universities and wants to continue this project. Their agreement is to provide tuition costs if the family contributes 5 to 10 percent of the given semester’s bill. Many families are hardly able to provide the $10 of a $200 semester bill. But for the sake of educating their son or daughter, extreme sacrifices are made.
